How does CoachingOnSite® work?

Sessions can last up to 60 minutes, and follow a structure of conversation that helps you view your current situation from different perspectives. This stretches your thinking capacity and encourages you to take action by becoming “unstuck”, and moving yourself to action. You have the opportunity to select your coach from our roster of professional coaches, and to navigate through their calendars to select a time that works best for you. All coaches were selected through a rigorous process.

What is the cost of my session?

The cost of a coaching session tends to vary considerably from one credentialed coach to the next. Fees are usually based on the coach’s experience and training, ranging from $80 to $500US per session. Coaches with significant experience and training who work in the area of leadership are likely to charge at the higher end of this range. At CoachingOnSite®, fees are fixed at CA$275 per session. Your session can last up to 60 minutes.

What if I don’t like my coaching session?

There is no refund once you engage. Your coach is a trained and certified professional who will apply all of his/her skills and capabilities to help you move forward. Hence, you are still getting value from the conversation. Perhaps it is not what you expected to experience or perhaps you are disappointed that you did not reach your decision. These are all probable outcomes. However, the program is intended for you to work your way toward your decision and not for your coach to make the decision for you. If you are not happy, you can let us know through our on-line survey that will be sent your way. We listen to your feedback, and take action when possible. We encourage you to come back and connect with another coach.

How do I get started?

To qualify for a session, you will need to complete two informed consent forms, and a short-form psychometric assessment on well-being. The first consent form asks that you acknowledge the extent of confidentiality with the information you share with your coach during the session. The second consent form asks that you acknowledge the risks of using an on-line service, and the limits of security when using any on-line digital service. The third form is a self-assessment of your well-being to ensure that coaching is right for you at this time. Coaching is not intended to bypass a mental health professional best positioned to help you deal with emotional distress, mental anguish, and destructive behaviors that prevent you from positively functioning in all aspects of your life. You will not be permitted to sign in for a session if you fail to submit your consent forms and/or score below an acceptable range on the well-being scale.

How do my sessions take place?

Coaching sessions can take place by phone, or Skype, as selected by you, or sometimes using an online video conferencing tool. There are no in-person sessions. You will be asked to make your selection, and your coach will be notified via an email confirmation.

Can I keep selecting the same coach?

The advantage of using CoachingOnSite® is you decide who you want to be coached by, considering the availability of the coach. The system does not prevent you from selecting the same coach every time you return to the site. Moreover, you may also choose to be coached on the same topic by different coaches.

What if I decide to work with the coach I selected outside of the CoachingOnSite® service?

We encourage clients to feel comfortable when being coached. Hence, if you decide to continue to work with your selected coach outside of the CoachingOnSite® service, it is important to acknowledge that the service you will receive is no longer managed by our system, and the informed consent you signed are no longer valid. You will be on your own to negotiate your contract, including fees, as well as to ensure that confidentiality is being preserved. Once you leave our program, we are no longer responsible of how the coaching sessions or program will be conducted.

How many times can I come back to the site?

CoachingOnSite®  is intended to help you generate insights so that you move closer to your goal. However, in that one session, it may not be possible for you to deepen your thinking,  nurture your strengths, or make substantial and long-lasting changes in your behavioral habits and mindset. For this to happen, you need to engage in a long-term partnership where regular sessions take place with your coach. Therefore, once you have visited the site for the 4th time, you will be encouraged to consider a coaching program, which is structured for the purpose of helping you deepen your understanding of yourself in relation to your context or goal you desire for yourself. However, you will not be prevented from accessing the system.

Are my reasons valid for coaching?

Coaching is a professional service that uses acquired skills, competencies, strategies, and techniques to help you arrive at your own decision and/or move closer to your desired goal.  Typically, requests for coaching fall under three main categories:

Leadership: You are currently experiencing a situation at your place of work that requires your attention and you don’t know where to begin. Leadership or executive coaching is focused on helping you achieve greater focus to move yourself toward your goal and/or decision that will impact you, your team, and the organization.  Obviously, any insights gained during your session may likely benefit you in other areas of your life. Here are some areas clients who seek leadership or executive coaching want to work on:

  • Executive presence: Taking ownership of decisions and actions
  • Boardroom management: Being able to convey key decisions/messages
  • Team alignment: Making sure everyone is focused and committed to the same goals/targets
  • Employee empowerment/engagement: Ensuring the well-being of employees for greater return on investment of resources
  • Communication: Getting your message across and/or being understood by others
  • Personal reputation: Being perceived in a positive light
  • Accountability: Being able to assume responsibility for complex decisions.
  • Presentation impact: Being able to motivate and inspire others
  • Influencing without authority: Being able to accomplishment tasks without having direct responsibility of people assigned to work with you
  • Moving from independent contributor to manager: Being able to assume responsibility for the well-being of direct reports

Career: You are not quite sure where you want to invest your energy, what decisions you want to make in regard to your career, or perhaps you want to make a change and don’t know where to begin. Career coaching is intended to help you gain perspective and direction in your career path. Here are some reasons people seek career coaching:
