Becoming an Effective Executive Coach

What You Need to Know and Why

Introduction

Coach practitioners who desire to learn about Executive Coaching are invited to discover what it takes to build an executive coaching practice, how to work within a triad partnership (coach, sponsoring organization, and coachee), ethical issues surrounding the practice, as well as facilitating the development process for executive coaching clients. In an atmosphere of trust and partnership, coach practitioners will learn about the coaching mindset and how it differs from the problem-solving mindset. They will practice holding the coaching conversation in an effort to develop continuity for the client as he or she works toward his/her objectives. During the program, coach practitioners will be challenged to incorporate the ICF’s Core Coaching Competencies (CCCs) in their coaching sessions. Along with recognizing the uniqueness of the Executive Coaching practice, coach practitioners will also learn strategies to launch their private practice.

Together with other coach practitioners, the learning will include observation of live or recorded coaching sessions and feedback delivered in a generative fashion where the overall development goals of coach practitioners, stated at the start of the course, are respected.

Candidates must hold a current ICF Credential or have been certified as a professional coach from an ICF approved Coach Training Institution and be in the process of being credentialed.
